Arancini

Timeless Italian street food featuring various shapes-round in Palermo and cone-shaped in Catania that gained popularity and is now featured as an appetizer in restaurants everywhere. On the western side of Sicily, you would request an arancino (plural: arancini), while on the eastern side, you would ask for an arancina (plural: arancine).
One term is feminine, and the other is masculine.
Even today, Sicilians engage in lively debates about the proper way to refer to these delicious treats!
